I have studied German Language and Literature on BA level and Translation at the MA level at the University of Tartu. Learning and teaching of foreign languages is the main area of my PhD studies at the Institute of Germanic, Romance and Slavonic Languages and Literatures, University of Tartu. Since 2002 I teach German at Tartu Veeriku school at Secondary 1 level (age 12-15), and since 2005 I am a Teaching Assistent of German Language and Literature at the University of Tartu.
I graduated from Tartu University with MA in Russian philology, and with a Primary School English Teacher diploma. I have taught Russian and English. I currently teach English at Primary 1 and 2 and Secondary 1 levels (6-15 years).
Tartu Veeriku School is a basic school (primary & lower secondary levels) and it focuses on the English language and science/environment. It counts ca. 430 pupils. The language of schooling is Estonian; English, Russian and German are taught. Pupils speak mainly Estonian, only very few of them speak Russian fluently. They speak English, while the teachers speak less English and some Finnish.
